Dolly Khanna increases her stake in this Battery recycling stock; Do you hold it?


This Microcap stock is down around 4.50% in the day’s trade which operates in the manufacturing of Pure lead for battery consumption. Recently, Ace Investor Dolly Khanna who holds a portfolio worth of around ₹517 crores invested in 19 stocks. Dolly Khanna’s top holdings by value include Chennai Petroleum Corporation worth ₹145.60 crore, j Kumar Infrastructure ₹55.80 crore, and Prakash Pipes worth ₹50.60 crore. 

Stake Increase 

Ace Investor Dolly Khanna has increased their stake in Q2FY25 from the initial 1.1% in Q1FY25 to 1.27% in Q2FY25, which is an increase of 0.2% QoQ. The Holding value is around 9.3 crore with acquired shares of 38,245 as of Q2FY25. From the Q1FY25, the stock has delivered a return of around 90% to date. The stock has given returns of around 251% in the past year and delivered multi-bagger returns of around 1,147% in the past five years. 

About the company & its business 

Nile Limited is into the manufacturing of pure lead for battery consumption. The Company operates under two divisions namely Wind and Lead Energy. Their Lead division is into the production of lead and lead alloys, and the windmills are into the generation of electrical energy. 

Nile’s product range which includes Pure Lead purity of around 99.97%, Lead Selenium alloys, Lead Antimony alloys, Lead Tin alloys, and Lead Calcium alloys. The Company has two recycling plants with secondary lead production. Their first lead recycling plant has an annual capacity of 32,000 tons approximately per annum, which is located at Choutuppal near Hyderabad. They are equipped with testing and recycling facilities. 

The company’s second unit has an installed capacity of 65,000 TPA approximately, which is located near Tirupati. Their 2MW wind farm is located at Ramagiri which is in Ananthapur district. Nile’s subsidiaries include Nirmalya Extracts Private Limited and Nile Li-Cycle Private Limited.

Company Financials 

The company’s revenue from operations in Q1FY25 revenue stood at Rs. 245.41 crore which is around a 41% increase in QoQ from Rs. 174.12 crore from Q4FY24. The Net profits surged by around 34% QoQ from Rs. 6.06 crore in Q4FY24 to Rs. 8.11 crore in Q1FY25. 

The company recognizes its revenue from operations from two divisions namely, lead and Wind energy. Their Lead Division is into production of Lead and Lead alloys and their Windmills division generates electrical energy. 

Based on their geographical segment, they earned the majority of the revenue from India which is around 99.9%, and the remaining 0.01% from Overseas in FY24. From the previous year, the company has started diversifying through overseas sales.
