FMCG stock hits 5% upper circuit after Co to manufacture and distribute candies ₹36 Cr


This microcap FMCG company, which is engaged in manufacturing a range of sugar confectionery, candies, eclairs, toffees, powder, and center-filled products soared 5 percent upper circuit after signing a manufacturing deal with Perfetti Van Melle India. 

Price Movement 

In Monday’s trading session, Sampre Nutrition Limited stock hit the upper circuit at Rs.79.29 per share, which is 4.99 percent up from its previous close price of Rs.75.52 apiece. The stock has delivered a return of around 33 percent and outperformed Nifty in the same period. 

What happened 

The company has entered into an agreement with Perfetti Van Melle India Private Limited for the manufacturing, sale, and distribution of confectionary candies and other edible products. The order contract needs to be executed in 12 months. The consideration value of the contract is worth Rs. 36 crore annually with 200 Tons per month. 

Financial Performance 

On a standalone basis, the FY24 results show revenue from operations decreased by 32.23 percent year on year, from Rs. 37.11 crores in FY23 to Rs. 25.15 crores in FY24. Their net profit dropped by 11.42 percent year on year, from Rs. 0.35 crores in FY23 to Rs. 0.31 crores in FY24. 

The return on equity in FY24 stood at 21.58 percent increased from 17.68 percent a year ago. The PAT margins ratio was 16.11 percent which has reduced from 11.86 percent in FY23. However, the return on capital employed has stood at 27.07 percent which has increased compared to 22 percent a year ago. The company has extended the AGM for the financial year 2024 for 2 months dated 30th November 2024.

Revenue Segment 

According to the company’s 2023 annual report, they considered revenue from a single source. They derive their revenue from the manufacturing of sugar-boiled candies and toffees as of FY24. They primarily operate in India with two manufacturing units. 

Shareholding Pattern 

As of September 2024, the shareholding pattern includes promoters holding a share of 28.36 percent stake in Sampre Nutritions and public holdings stand at 71.64 percent.
