The IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings has been dealing with back-to-back injury concerns as Mustafizur Rahman suffered cramps during the 3rd ODI match against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh Pacer Mustafizur Rahman suffered severe cramps during the third ODI match on Sri Lanka’s tour of Bangladesh 2024.

He bagged two wickets for 39 runs in 9 overs he bowled on March 18. During the 42nd over, he was seen uncomfortable with his stomach and fell to the ground after completing the over.

He was set to bowl the 48th over but was unable to complete it due to which Soumya Sarkar came to his place.

This was his first match in the series after he replaced Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the lineup. Bangladesh is yet to reveal an update about eh player who was expected to join the CSK squad on Monday.

Mustafizur Rahman was roped in by CSK during the IPL 2024 auction for INR 2 crores. He has played 91 T20Is until date for Bangladesh where he picked up 107 wickets with a best bowling return of 5/22.

He made his IPL debut during the season 2016 and has played 48 matches in the tournament in different seasons bagging 47 wickets with an average of 30.72.

Chennai Super Kings has been suffering from back-to-back injuries ahead of the new season as Devon Conway and Matheesha Pathirana will be missing the first part of the IPL and their participation for the second half will depend on the recovery process.

Devon Conway has undergone surgery for a thumb injury he sustained during the second T20I match of Australia’s tour of New Zealand 2024. He was impressive during the previous IPL season where he scored 672 runs in 16 matches.

Meanwhile, Matheesha Pathirana suffered an injury during the second T20I match on the Bangladesh tour. With them being ruled out, there will be a change in the squad and TOS has given the best probable playing 11 of the side for the upcoming season.

Chennai Super Kings will be playing their first match of the IPL 2024 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
